Fair Divorce Legislation Scholarship Winners
Moskowitz Law Group, LLC is dedicated to helping families overcome the challenges of divorce and making the process as painless as possible. Through the Fair Divorce Legislation scholarship, the attorneys at Moskowitz Law Group gave students the opportunity to express their thoughts on divorce legislation. Our team is honored to assist students in the pursuit of their higher education through this financial award.
2023 Winner: Danielle Thompson
My name is Danielle Thompson and I am a 24 year old student living in the ever rainy Pacific Northwest with my awesome partner and two adorable cats. I have always had a passion for working with the youth and have been employed by my local school district for the last several years. I’m currently in the process of pursuing a graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling with a dual endorsement in School Counseling. I will be attending Adams State University in Colorado for the upcoming fall semester and couldn’t be more thrilled for the opportunity! After graduation, I plan to work for a few years in community health or for my local school district before working for a private practice that focuses on adolescent counseling.
Reaction Statement: It is hard for me to express in words how much being chosen as the winner for this scholarship means to me! I had to have my mom read the email I received back to me again since I almost couldn’t believe it when I first saw it. I am so very thankful to all the amazing attorneys and staff at Moskowitz Law Firm for taking the time to read my essay, let alone for selecting it as this year’s winner. As we all know, a college education is quite an expensive investment. I have been incredibly stressed by the daunting thought of paying for a graduate degree since I first decided to continue with my education. Being chosen to win this scholarship helps take a weight off of my shoulders and allows me to focus on what’s most important – getting this degree completed. Again, a humongous thank you to everyone at Moskowitz who took the time to read my essay – you are all the best!
2022 Winner: Megan Danh
Megan Danh is a high school senior from Madison City, Alabama. She is hoping to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering at the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in business administration or computer engineering. Megan also plans to be an active advocate for mental health and strives to promote the role of women in STEM.
Reaction Statement: I am honored and ecstatic to be presented with this award and scholarship from the Moskowitz Law Group on Fair Divorce Legislation. It is a milestone for the funding of both my undergraduate and graduate studies, and I am forever grateful for the group’s generosity.
2021 Winner: Kylie Milliman
Kylie is a 23 year old from Rochester, NY and will be starting as a 1L at Brooklyn Law School in the Fall. Kylie received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning and Public Policy in May of 2019, and set her sights on law school early on, working as a paralegal for a sole proprietor in commercial litigation through her time in undergraduate education. Kylie is passionate about trial advocacy and litigation practice, and is excited to pursue these avenues through practice after formal legal education.
Reaction Statement: “I am humbled to have received this award through a scholarship contest on Fair Divorce Legislation, which hits very close to home. The work that the attorneys at Moskowitz Law Group actively participate in everyday largely affects the families and children affected by divorce who eventually become students like myself, and their generosity in giving back makes a huge difference in the opportunities students like myself are given. I deeply thank the scholarship committee for this generous award.”
2020 Winner: Casandra Baird
Casandra Baird is currently a second year undergraduate student at Colorado State University, majoring in Political Science and French Language and minoring in Legal Studies. She hopes to pursue her masters degree in Legal Studies in France. She is passionate about language learning, and she spends her free time playing piano, snowboarding, and long-boarding.
Reaction Statement: “It was a great shock and even greater surprise to be chosen as the Fair Divorce Legislation Scholarship winner. The opportunity to join personal experience with professional aspiration is rare, and I am so thankful for the occasion to fund my education.
