Consulting a New Jersey Family Attorney under COVID-19 Protocols

Throughout the pandemic, the attorneys at the Moskowitz Law Group have helped individuals enter family law proceedings through the judiciary’s new electronic filing system. If you are considering beginning a legal case, it may be beneficial to familiarize yourself with our firm’s COVID-19 protocols before you schedule your initial consultation with a New Jersey family attorney. A compassionate and understanding lawyer could take on your case and help you achieve an efficient resolution despite the current circumstances. Learn about consulting a New Jersey family attorney under COVID-19 protocols.

Moskowitz Office Operations

The Moskowitz Law Group’s office is fully functional, with almost all staff members fully able to go to work. There is a rotation of staff in the office to limit exposure. The physical environment of the office has also been changed, with the addition of flexi glass in in the conference room where virtual trials occur. A newly installed television and camera system in the conference room has allowed virtual trials to proceed smoothly.

Though the firm had to adjust their daily operations to the state’s guidelines, it is still functioning effectively and is continuing to find new ways to adapt.

In-person meetings between New Jersey family attorneys and individuals are not occurring under the current COVID-19 protocols but may be considered on a case-by-case basis. It is usually the most convenient for someone to contact their attorney over Zoom. If there is a trial, the parties may appear in the conference room while wearing masks, but this process can also be completed over Zoom.

Case Intake and Paperwork

New Jersey family law attorneys are still completing paperwork related to cases despite the constraints imposed by the COVID-19 rules. Any documents or notices that arrive at the office are immediately emailed to the individuals involved in the case unless they specifically ask us to mail them the paperwork. The firm’s intake specialist enters all new cases into the official computer system, so that the attorneys have the necessary information for the consultation.

A New Jersey Family Attorney Could Prepare You for Your Consultation Under COVID-19 Procedures

Though your first consultation with a family attorney will likely be virtual, the necessary preparation is similar to what is needed for an in-person meeting. You should schedule your consultation during a time where you have complete privacy in your home and can divulge your full attention without distractions. It is important to take measures to ensure that your attorney can listen to your full story and offer crucial advice to address your current situation.

In advance of the consultation date, a member of the law firm’s staff will email you a link to the virtual meeting. It may be wise to ensure the link works before the meeting is scheduled to begin, to avoid any technical issues. You can do this either from your computer or through the Zoom app. If you have any difficulty, you can call the firm and a staff member can walk you through the process.

Understanding all of the Moskowitz Law Group’s COVID-19 protocols could help your first consultation with a New Jersey family attorney proceed effectively. Call today to speak with a dedicated legal professional and learn more.
